note; I personally think what Charity
Did was very Humorous.
But it is True!
**********
Miss Charity Ann Horton
(My Great-Great Grandmother, My father's side)
Charity, Although single, was the owner of
A Plantation in South Carolina...
During the 'Cival-War'
Union General Sherman, while passing thru
South Carolina, with his troops
Just happened to take a rest at
Miss Charity's Plantation.

Charity just kept on doing her chores,
She was Flooring her meat
in a 'Smoke-House'

General Sherman, along with his troops
Demanded Charity to give them her
meat...
Charity, stopped long enough to look up
at General Sherman, and
Seriously say,.....
" Go ahead, and Take it all... It's all poision, anyway."

General Sherman and his Union Troops
Decided to move on......
Needless to say,
They left the meat behind.
